February 11, 2010 Tom and Sandi Hofmann have accepted the call to serve the Lord as Awana Missionaries in the Panhandle of Florida. They have faithfully served the Awana ministry in the High Plains for over two decades and will be greatly missed. In June they will begin transitioning to their new ministry in Florida. We wish them God’s great blessing as they undertake this new venture.

Rick and Fairy Hattan celebrate 25 years as Awana Missionaries. Much has changed during that time: in 1985, 75 churches were using Awana in the High Plains; now 160 churches are using Awana to reach boys and girls with the gospel. In 1985, the VCR was beginning to replace the filmstrip as the preferred training media; now DVD and PowerPoint are common. We thank God for the opportunity to use our gifts to help reach kids for Christ these past two and a half decades. Thank you for your prayers and support. This was our rookie prayer card picture in 1985.

Paul & Janet Harkness graduate from Awana Missionary Candidate School. For over 20 years they served in pastoral ministries in Nebraska and Oklahoma. During that time they saw the Lord work in the lives of children and youth, and were impressed with how He used Awana to reach them. Paul & Janet's primary role on the High Plains Missionary Team will be to start and establish new clubs. We are excited to have them on the team.
